1. Ballpark

  • We can give you an initial price rangefor Solcraft’s complete structural system (including engineering and logistics estimates) based on some assumptions of what you’re looking to build.
  • We don’t need much at this stage as it is just ballparking; just an idea of the size, room layout (maybe), number of storeys, and maybe the footing type.

2. Preliminary Offer

    • This involves you providing us with a more detailed plan for your project.
      • Don’t have a design? Let us know and we can recommend some options for you.
    • This will need dimensions and details of your window/door openings so the actual structure can be designed. We can assist with suggesting a design partner to work with if you need help with this.
  • There is no cost to you up to this point.

3. Engineering Design

  • We take a deposit of the preliminary offer to prepare the actual engineering design including full Australian compliance.
  • This stage then confirms the final supply pricing as all preliminary assumptions will be removed.

4. Place an order

  • Rubber hits the road – or you could say Foam hits the Form.
  • Our partner Solcraft starts production of your SIP home, and we commence arrangements for shipping to your project site.

5. Installation

  • The system has been manufactured, shipped, and delivered to your project site.
  • We provide training to you, or directly to your builder depending on how you plan to construct the system.
  • We can also assist you with the construction of your Solcraft structure depending on your location

How it all comes together

It starts with a 3D model that Solcraft uses as a basis for Engineering design. The following link shows all of the models created by Solcraft for consumer throughout Europe.

Instructions

Solcraft have put together the following videos to help builders understand how the Solcraft system is constructed.
This 40 minute instructional covers the everything from connection to the footing to the installation of the roof and all the required connection details. In Polish with English subtitles, we’ll recreate this as we complete projects in Australia.

How resilient is it?

Very… check out this video for some rudimentary testing to show the performance of the product in small scale.

Technical information

We have some great comparison documents to show the performance of Solcraft’s system against traditional timber frame, as well as other SIP systems.

Who can use this system?

Anyone!

The all-important question we get from many consumers is “do I need a professional builder to install this system?”

The short answer is NO – if you have some basic construction skills and can understand (or learn) how to read construction drawings, then the installation is relatively simple. It is heavy and hard work, so not for the feint hearted but a genuine opportunity to save some money if you want to Owner Build your own home.

If you lack construction knowledge or ability, then it’s probably going to be best to engage a professional.

We can refer you to a trusted partner for the construction of the Solcraft structure, and/or provide free initial training to you or your builder.
